Las Vegas!

Nathan and I finally booked our first summer vacation! It's gonna be kinda short, but we are both excited to get away from work and responsibilities, and spend some quality time with each other.

Here's a little about our plans:

We are leaving early in the morning and catching a flight on United Airlines (which I am sooo excited about, I'm obsessed with flying) to our destination of....

LAS VEGAS BABY!

We are staying in the fabulous Bellagio Hotel...

...and among other things, we are seeing 2 shows, Cirque du Soleil 'Mystere' and a Penn & Teller Magic Show.

We have so much planned and we cannot wait...now we just have to wait! We aren't leaving for another 6 weeks, so the waiting game begins!
And who knows! Maybe I'll come back as "Michelle Carlson!"

Can Coach Just Leave Already???

Everyone has a guilty pleasure...mine happens to be reality TV. I don't watch a ton of TV, but when I do it's almost always reality -- Survivor, Real World/Road Rules Challenges, American Idol, The Hills...you name it, I'm probably obsessed.

But I have a problem. And that problem's name is Coach. In all seriousness, I have never disliked a reality TV star more than this guy. And from what I hear, I'm not the only one. So how is it possible that he in the final 4 of "Survivor?" He's nuts, insane, psycho, all of the above! He claims to be the only honest person playing the game but he's the only one who's lying. What is going on and can he just be voted off already?

I am crossing my fingers, toes, arms, legs, that he can finally be voted off tonight, or I may just have to boycot the show all together.

The Denver Aquarium

Last week Nathan and I decided that we wanted to check out the Denver Aquarium. We weren't sure if it was a place that adults would enjoy or if it was more of a kids thing, so we decided to bring my 3 1/2 year old niece Cheyna with us just in case.

We started off our afternoon eating lunch at my favorite little eatery downtown, "House of the Commons." It's an English Tea House that is so cute and very authentic. They have the best sandwiches and of course the best tea! It feels like Alice and Wonderland inside. Cheyna was a bit impatient, she wanted to leave and see the "fishies!"

Luckily for Cheyna, the tea house was just a few blocks away from the aquarium, so we drove there right after lunch.

The aquarium was awesome. We were very pleasantly surprised to say the least! Not only was there plenty for her to enjoy, but we loved it too! It was so much fun and a lot more grandiose than I thought it would be.

I took about a million pictures, but here are just a few...

The Coral Reef...gorgeous!!!

My favorite part, the jellyfish.

Nathan feeding the stingrays:

Cheyna got "Gary" from Spongebob painted on her cheek,

and Spongebob painted on her arm!

Cheyna with the sharks!
Not my favorite picture, but the only one we took of ourselves:

It was really a super fun day, and worked wonders for Cheyna's naptime....If you've never been, I highly recommend it!!!

Moving into the 21st Century.

When I moved out for the first time after high school, I inherited my dad's big screen TV, which at the time wasn't that old. But slowly over the years it has started to show it's age, and finally last week it kicked the bucket. I was trying to decide whether to just move one of my other TV's into the living room, or to just replace it all together. But....I finally got the shopping bug last Wednesday, and a couple hours and way too much money later, I ended up bringing this home:

I definately don't regret the decision! I didn't know what I was missing!

Even little Luca loved it :p (The box anyway!)

Catching Up.

Is it okay to start a blog if you aren't married or have kids? I don't really know, but I decided to do it anyway. I don't have a very exciting life, but I thought at the very least I could document it for myself and anyone else who might want to check up on me now and then.

So let's catch up! For those of you who haven't heard from me in a long time, a lot has changed!

I graduated with my Associates Degree in 2007, but more importantly, I graduated E.M.T. School! That's right, I'm a State of Colorado certified NR-E.M.T. and it is so awesome! E.M.T. School was so hard, but very rewarding, and I would never take it back.

I was so proud of all my degrees and certificates that I had to display them in the old house:

When I passed all of my state exams my mom was a nerd, and was so excited to tell everyone that her daughter had a medical degree. I immediately got a job working for Northglenn Ambulance right after classes ended, but more about that in a minute...

I'm back in school again, finishing up my last couple of classes so I can finally apply to Nursing School. Hopefully I'll get in right away and not have to worry about a waiting list.

In July 2008, I made a very abrubt decision to leave my management position at TCF Bank, and joined the team at T-Mobile, USA. The decision wasn't easy, and sometimes I wonder whether it was the right one..but the money was right, so that has helped. As far as my E.M.T. career, I also decided to take a hiatus for a while. It was hard to work 2 jobs at once while going back to school, and the money was the deciding factor. (EMT's don't make a lot of money until after Paramedic School.) So for now, T-Mobile is my full-time job, and it's working out pretty well.

"The Natester"....many of you may be surprised to find out that after almost 7 years, Nathan and I are still together! I can't believe it's been so long, but we are happier than ever. I thought for sure we'd be married by now, but I'm fairly certain that will happen soon. There are no solid plans yet (although we are going to Vegas in a few weeks ;).... So we will see. I'm sort of the girl that wanted to be married at age 20, and he was thinking 30, so I think we will meet right in the middle somewhere.

I've also moved around a lot in the last couple years, from an apartment to a house and back to an apartment again. I am still in the boring town of Thornton, and am desperately trying to convince Nate to move with me to Florida. I really want to get out of here and we could easily both transfer our jobs to Tampa, so I'm working on it.

Here's some pictures of the place I've been in since December:

I'm definately not a mama yet...at least not to anyone except our two cats, Sophia (whom we call "Puppy" even though she's a cat,) and our new kitten Luca who is now 7 months. Having children is also hopefully in the near future. I need to get that show on the road. My biological clock is definately ticking!

I guess that's about it! I may not have a very exciting life, but it's the only one I've got, and I wouldn't change a thing. I love my life!
